They Hate Eachother
They Hate EACHOTHER
by WeRBadGamers
On a sun-soaked isle of Greece, where perfect ancient gods once roamed, two titans were formed under the same lucent sky, perhaps even within seconds of one another. They were chosen by fate and destiny to clash in a rivalry as fierce as any war fought on Mount Olympus.
Zeus Williams and Apollo Kostintinos grew up just houses apart in a small village nestled amongst the olive trees; so close that sometimes they kicked up dirt on the same road or even played with the same stones. If one whistled, the other could hear it vividly. They swam in the same stream that ventured out to the Aegean. From the moment they could recognize each other, their paths were intertwined. They grew together in spurts, as comrades and friends, playfully competing against each other every day. Tag, hide-and-seek, or racing through their own narrow corners of the open countryside. Convincing one another that they too were gods, and believing it just as much themselves, strengthened by the untamed wilderness they breathed.
Just like when the sun and the moon share the sky, so too did Zeus Williams and Apollo Kostintinos. They grew together, stretching toward the heavens like ancient cypress trees, their towering frames casting long shadows over the very stones they once played with. But their friendship, forged in the sanctity of youth, would evolve into something far more complex as their limbs lengthened and their prowess on the basketball court began to take shape.
The games of tag and hide-and-seek were quickly replaced by hours of relentless competition under the sun, as they pitted their growing strength and skill against each other in battles that would rock the earth.
At seven feet tall, each was a colossus in his own right, molded by the same elements, yet destined to carve out separate paths.
Zeus, named after the ruler of the gods, dominated the court with the might of a thousand thunderbolts. His towering presence commanding and his explosive energy a gale on the court, his every move driven by a ravaging rage that mirrored the thunderous wrath of his divine namesake. His dunks were not just mere points but resounding declarations, each one a hammer of defiance against Apollo.
Apollo, named after the god of light and prophecy, countered with an elegance that matched his towering frame. His movements were fluid, his shots precise, and his defense impenetrable—he was a sunbeam that could pierce through the thickest of clouds. Where Zeus brought the raging storm and thunder, Apollo brought the serene dawn and grace, each playing as if strung by the hands of the Ones above.
Transplanted to the United States, while teenagers, both were chosen to represent prestigious high schools and powerhouse AAU programs. Each winter and summer clash was an epic, with the crowds transfixed by the sight of two seven-foot giants battling for dominion. They became legends in their own right, with every matchup between them drawing comparisons to the greatest of duels in existence.
And now, as they stand on the brink of the Prospect League and the impending GSB Draft, their rivalry reaches a new height, one taller than their own brows. The gods of basketball will soon choose their champion, and as the world waits fate will unravel. Will Zeus, the storm-bringer, ascend as the unchallenged ruler of the court? Or will Apollo, the sun-god, illuminate the path to victory with his unparalleled skill? Both seeking the annihilation of the other.
There is plenty more to this rivalry...
